As the pastor at First Baptist Church of Hooks, I would like to welcome you to our website.  Thank you for taking time to visit and I pray that the next few moments you spend will be a blessing to you.  It is my hope that our church can minister to you, not only through our website but in person. We hope that you find this information helpful, but more than that, we pray that you find evidence of a church that could be a blessing to you.  We want you to feel comfortable and at liberty to call on us for anything you need.

If you are considering relocating to our area or are presently living in the area and simply don't have a church home, we would love to have you as our guest for any of our activities throughout the week.  If you have questions and would like to be contacted, please click (here), and complete the information.  I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. May you feel the love of Christ in your life today and every day!

  • Services Canceled

Strange times are they not? We will continue to see stranger things ahead, if not with our current challenge, with something else. We will always need to find a way to adapt and overcome the challenge that is called "living in a fallen world."

That being said, we must deal with what is in front of us right now and we must do so in a practical manner, both physically and spiritually. We do not want to take unnecessary risks with either one. Therefore, FBC Hooks has decided to take the advice of CDC guidelines and recent Presidential recommendations as many other congregations are doing at this time. We will NOT have normal Wednesday or Sunday services or activities for the next 2 weeks (through Sunday 3/29/2020). Should this be extended, information will be shared at a later date.

As the pastor of FBC Hooks, I would like to encourage you to take advantage of this time to care for your spiritual health, not just your physical health. FBC Hooks, as are other churches, is doing its best to provide opportunities to stay connected in other ways during this time. We do not want to lose touch, getting in the habit of not meeting and then thinking that we will just jump right back into the swing of things when this is all over...that thinking is a good tool of the devil.

Here are some ways to stay connected:
    1. The doors of FBC Hooks will be open from 6:00-7:00pm on Wednesday and Sunday evenings for "come and go" prayer time. Prayer lists will be available, music playing in the back ground, assistance as needed, but we will not "formally" meet to pray together.
    2. Read the posts or follow the links that come across as many are related to the emphasis on Annie Armstrong Easter Offering we are emphasizing. Focus on those serving in North American, whose ministry is being affected by this outbreak.
    3. Keep up to date on your Sunday School lesson. If you don't have your book, let me know and I will bring it to you.
    4. Listen to the sermon. I will post a link of this page that will have the sermon for each Sunday that we are not together. Just because we are not meeting, does not mean we should not open up His word.
    5. Use the resources God has given us through other churches. Many other churches are doing similar things. Fill your minds with great encouragement from God's people, not the junk that is circulating in the "fallen world."

God bless each of you. Stay strong and courageous!
    In His Service,
    Bro. Grant
