Just talk to Him...

"The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend..." Exodus 33:11 (NIV)

Have you ever gotten nervous?  Sure, we all have.  We have all gotten nervous about something.  We may not get nervous about the same things that we did when we were younger OR maybe we do, but we all know that feeling.  One thing that many people get nervous about is talking to the Almighty.  Now don't get me wrong.  I don't want us to get too casual and thing that we can just say and do anything that we want, but I would like to take some of the "nervousness" out of talking to God.

"Nerves" can be a good thing if they keeps us on our toes.  "Nerves" can cause us to prepare well in teaching or presenting, or maybe just giving an announcement.  However, "nerves" can be paralyzing for some.  So much so that nothing gets done.  That's what I don't want to happen.  We should not be so nervous that we never take the time to sit down with God and talk.  As we find in Scripture, Moses spoke with God as one "speaks to a friend."  As I said before, it's not the idea of being casual.  No, it's the idea of one on one, face to face, and being sincere.  Don't hold anything back.  Act as if there is no one else there, even if there, maybe praying in Sunday School, church, prayer group, Bible study, etc.

The way that we grow and decrease our "nervousness" is to become more comfortable talking to our FRIEND.

In Christ,

Bro. Grant
