Fortunate in freedom...

"But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." Romans 7:6 (NIV)

Have you ever noticed that we, Americans, don't realize how fortunate we are?  I know that it has become cliche to ask that question.  I know that more and more freedoms are being taken for granted.  I don't think that I have ever taken for granted how blessed we are in this least as an adult.  I will not be so ignorant as to claim that truth as a child.  However, I do believe that I was blessed at a young age in the fact that I lived in a country outside of the United States that gave me a better perspective than most people my age, and I am grateful for that today.  I believe that it has caused me to reflect on how blessed I am more than once.  It has definitely helped shape my priorities over the years.

But I would like to remind us, AS CHRISTIANS, as to how blessed we are no matter where we live.  For God's word teaches us that we have been born again...into a new way of the Spirit.  We do not have to live the way we have lived matter where we live.  Then tell me, why do we, AS CHRISTIANS, complain, gripe, criticize, whine, etc.?  We are not bound by these ways any longer.  Realized how fortunate we are to live with the freedom of grace in Jesus Christ, demonstrating that grace to those around us...not hanging on to the law that so many want to cling.  Be blessed in this freedom!

In Christ,

Bro. Grant
